UNISSI designs and installs medical gas pipeline systems for wards, ICUs and operation theatres, from the plant room to the bedside outlet. We also maintain existing systems under CMC and supply cylinders, trolleys and consumables.

Gas identification
Colour codes we label every pipe with.
Every line carries a colour-coded ID band at regular intervals and at each turn. Each outlet is gas-specific, so an oxygen probe cannot fit a vacuum outlet.

MGPS questions
What is a medical gas pipeline system (MGPS)?
An MGPS carries oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, surgical air and vacuum from a central plant room to outlets at each bed and theatre, so staff do not move cylinders around the wards.
What copper is used in a medical gas pipeline?
Seamless, degreased, de-oxidised medical-grade copper, typically to EN 13348 or ASTM B819 as the tender specifies, joined by flux-free silver brazing so no residue is left inside the pipe.
What does an MGPS CMC cover?
Periodic inspection and leak checks, testing of area and master alarms, servicing of source equipment such as compressors, vacuum pumps and manifolds, and repair or replacement of valves, outlets and consumables.
Can you connect the pipeline to a PSA plant or LMO tank?
Yes. We tie the pipeline into PSA oxygen plants, liquid oxygen tanks and cylinder manifolds, with automatic changeover to backup supply.
